What Is End Of Watch Ministries?

End Of Watch Ministries (EOW) is a Christ-centered outreach dedicated to serving the men and women of law enforcement with practical needs, spiritual support, encouragement, and the life-changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Founded by former police Detective JB Wells, the ministry exists to stand in the gap between police officers and the local church—bringing the hope of Christ to those who carry the weight of protecting their communities.

EOW is a 501 c3 non-profit and has a 6 person board.

Law enforcement officers face unique pressures—long hours, constant risk, emotional trauma, and the heavy responsibility of making split-second decisions. These realities often create spiritual battles, isolation, and unseen burdens. Many officers struggle silently, feeling disconnected from the communities they serve and from the body of believers who long to support them. End Of Watch Ministries was created to show Officers their need of a Savior by building trust through interaction, and then connecting Officers with the local church.

At its core, EOW Ministries is committed to demonstrating the love of God not just in word, but in action. This means showing up—being present in departments, responding during crisis, praying with officers, supporting families, and partnering with churches to meet real needs. Through personal ministry, departmental visits, events, chaplaincy work, discipleship, and prayer, EOW seeks to strengthen those who stand on the front lines, and show them there is hope in Jesus Christ.

Our purpose is fourfold:

1. Reach Officers With the Gospel of Jesus Christ

We share the hope, peace, and identity found only in Christ. No matter what an officer has faced—on duty or off duty—Jesus offers healing, forgiveness, and a new beginning.

2. Build Bridges Between Officers and the Local Church

We help create connections between law enforcement and believers who want to encourage, support, and uplift them. We serve as a bridge that brings two communities together for prayer, fellowship, and spiritual growth. We want to help churches do what they can not, so that they can do what we can not.

3. Support Officers and Their Families in Times of Need

The stresses of police work impact entire families. We constantly see the family under attack. EOW Ministries provides prayer, counseling, emotional support, and practical care to officers, spouses, and children navigating difficult seasons. We offer "Get Aways" for struggling marriages, and nights out with their families. We also encourage families to attend events and cookouts.

4. Stand Beside Officers—In Everyday Life and Critical Moments

From roll-call visits to crisis response, from quiet conversations to department-wide prayer, EOW Ministries is committed to being present. We want officers to know that someone is standing with them, believing in them, and lifting them up before God.

Our Heart

End Of Watch Ministries exists because God placed a deep burden on our hearts for the men and women who risk their lives to protect ours. Our mission is simple but vital:

To make sure every officer knows they are valued, seen, loved by God, and understand the need for a Savior.

We are here to encourage the weary, strengthen the hurting, and walk alongside those who serve with courage and sacrifice. Whether on patrol, in the station, at home, or after their watch ends—We want officers to know the love of Christ by the life we live out in front of them.

About JB Wells

JB Wells is from Ludington Michigan, and is the founder of End Of Watch (EOW) Ministries.  He spent most of his career as a Detective, and was on the Mason/Oceana SWAT team for 18 years as a tactical operator. EOW is a Christ-centered outreach dedicated to bringing the Gospel to the law enforcement  community.

After spending 27 years as a police officer, JB answered God’s unmistakable call into ministry in 2024. He has dedicated his mission to showing officers genuine care and concern not only for their physical and emotional needs, but their spiritual one as well.

On June 1, 2025, JB was commissioned as a Missionary to the men and woman of Law Enforcement at his sending Church Lighthouse Baptist Church in Ludington.

Throughout nearly three decades in law enforcement, JB witnessed and experienced the emotional, physical, and spiritual challenges that officers carry—often in silence. These experiences shaped his burden to  boldly share the Gospel with officers before they reach their end of watch.

JB also connects with local pastors of Bible preaching churches to bridge the gap between their churches and police officers. His heart is to ensure that every officer knows they are seen, valued, and loved by God, not only in word but in action.

Today, JB is constantly reaching out to agencies, ministering to officers, praying with departments, supporting families, and partnering with churches to meet the unique needs of the law enforcement community. His mission is simple and unwavering: to bring the love, hope, strength, and truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who protect and serve.
